Barbara M. (Durham) Widhelm

Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara M. Widhelm, 81, Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk.  Reverend Dan Andrews will be the celebrant.  Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Church with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service.  Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Widhelm passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. 

Barbara Marlene was born November 3, 1937 to her parents Clayton and Vera (Eggers) Durham in Hadley, Indiana.  She met Dorian Widhelm on a blind date and the couple was married on September 21, 1953 in Martinsville, IN.  In 1954, they moved to Pierce County. 

Barbara was a homemaker, a farmer, a medical nurse aide at Pierce Manor, a worker in the Calibration Department at Dale’s Electronics, and a salad cook at Country Inn. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, crafts, cooking, canning, puzzles and garage sales.    

She is survived by husband, children Duane (Debra) Widhelm of Puyallup, WA, Paul (Julie) Widhalm of Norfolk, Ramona (Ray) Haffner of Council Bluffs, IA, Lola (Todd) Skovly of Scottland, SD, and Pamela (Keith) Polenske of Randolph, NE, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters Marsha Ellis of Morgantown, IN, Denise Hill of Muldrew, OK and Nina White of Salem, IN.

Barbara was preceded in death by parents, brother Jerry Dean Durham, sisters Fayleene Roberts, Vivian Hawkins, Martha Hunt and Juanita Branham, son-in-law James Padberg, and brothers-in-law David Ellis, Joe Hawkins, Russ Hill, Jerry Bolin, Jack Roberts and Joseph Branham.
