Memorial Services for Calvin J. “Cal” Allyn, 77, Norfolk, will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 14, 2019 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Norfolk. Reverend Jackie Perry will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service at the church. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Allyn passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 at his home in Norfolk.
Calvin James was born December 8, 1941, to James L. Allyn and Sarah E. Allyn in Stuart, NE. He graduated from Atkinson High School in 1959. He married Karen K. Moody on August 26, 1962. Calvin graduated from UNL with a degree in agricultural economics in 1964. He worked for Federal Land Bank Association and then Farm Credit Services until 1996. Calvin served on the Norfolk City Council for many years. He was an active member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and many civic service organizations.
He is survived by his wife; Karen, 3 children; Susan Allyn of Norfolk, Gregory and Shannon Allyn of Frisco, TX and Zuri and Arman Mnatsakanyan of Bessemer City, NC, 3 grandchildren; Daniel, Kaysie and Taylor Allyn, one sister; Jean Stenzel of O’Neill, NE, a brother-in-law; Dale and Bettie Moody of Kernersville, NC and one sister-in-law; Ellen Voss of Ainsworth, NE.
Memorials can be given to the family for future designation or the charity of your choice.
