Carol M. (Hynek) Praeuner

Funeral Services for Carol M. Praeuner, 71, Battle Creek, will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church in Battle Creek.  Reverend BJ Fouts will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church.  Steffen Mortuary in Battle Creek is in charge of the arrangements.

She passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 at her home in Battle Creek.

Carol was born March 28, 1947 in Pierce County, Nebraska to her parents George and Edna (Haase) Hynek.  She grew up in Hadar and graduated from Pierce High School. 

On December 26, 1965, Carol married Marvin Praeuner at Zion Lutheran Church in Pierce, Nebraska.

Carol and Marvin owned and operated Marv’s Market until they retired in 1983.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Carol is survived by her husband of 53 years, Marvin, son Robert “Bob” (Kally) Praeuner, Sr. of Battle Creek, grandchildren Robert, Jr., Alexis and Reagan, special niece Lynn (Ron) Kramer of North Platte, siblings Joan (Bill) Groninger of Wisner, Dennis Hynek of Texas, Betty (Jon) Hitz of Columbus and Darlene (Gerald) Ehlers of Ainsworth, and nieces and nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law, mother-in-law and nephews Jim Hynek and Brad Hitz.
