Funeral Services for Dale Wallis Malmberg, 86, of Norfolk, will be 11:00 Monday, April 16, 2018, at Grace Community Church in Norfolk. Pastor Greg Priebe will officiate. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.  Military honors conducted by the Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard, VFW Post 1644, American Legion Post 16 and the American Legion Riders. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Grace Community Church.  Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Malmberg passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Dale was born on June 15, 1931, at Pender, NE, the son of Wallis and Esther (Lander) Malmberg. He attended rural school prior to graduating from Pender High School in 1948.

He joined the US Army on August 28, 1952. He served in Korea where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Dale earned his honorable discharge on August 5, 1954.

On April 28, 1956, Dale married Colleen Reed at Whiting, IA.  The couple made their home on a farm near Pender.

He farmed for nearly 30 years before moving to Norfolk. Dale began driving a tour bus for Allied Tour and Travel. He retired in 2012.

Dale is survived by his wife of 61 years; his children, Paula and Greg Priebe, Mark and Jayne Malmberg, Beth and Joel Carlson and Jay Malmberg, all of Norfolk, 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; four sisters, Arlene Koski, of Pender, Janice Stuckenschmidt, of Lincoln, Sharon Bremer, of Omaha, and Carmen Hoffman, of Green Bay, WI.

He was preceded by his parents.
