Dennis K. Long

Funeral services for Dennis K. Long, 73, of Norfolk will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Home for Funerals: Reverend Gordon Bruce will officiate.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Home for Funerals, Norfolk, Nebraska.

            Dennis died Thursday, April 5, 2018 at his home.

            Dennis was born March 2, 1945, to Kenneth and Frieda (Wollin) Long in Norfolk. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School through the 8th grade. He then attended Norfolk Senior High School graduating in 1963.

            Denny married Donna Luikens on January 10, 1965, they later divorced, Denny then married Cheryl Johnson and they were later divorced.

            Denny went to work for Northrup Chevrolet and later for Langel Chevrolet and Cadillac, for 20 years. He then opened Denny Long Repair, retiring in 2007.

            Denny was the complete handyman and had a real love being a mechanic. He loved to work with his hands and help anyone with a project, but his real love was his family.

            Denny is survived by his 4 children, Kelly Pully of Norfolk, Patti Long of Cincinnati, OH, Christi (John) Freedman of Cincinnati, OH, Kayla and Tyler Hilkemann of Wayne, 7 grandchildren, Amy, Andy, Ashley, Ramsey, Jacob, Jordan and Jaxon, 6 great-grandchildren, Xena, Anthony, Jayden, Hayley, Ramsey Jr. and Osias, a brother Allen (Reggie) Long of Norfolk, 2 sisters, Linda (Al) Gross of Norfolk and Beverly Long of Norfolk, and his two dogs, Abby and Emma.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers, Virgil and Jim.
