I was putting flowers on my aunt and uncle’s graves when I saw Mrs. Cerny’s grave. She was my kindergarten teacher at Lowell Elementary. One time, I ran into her and her husband at Hy-Vee. I said, “How’s my favorite kindergarten teacher?” She was quick to correct me, “You mean your favorite teacher.” Ah yes!

My deepest sympathy. Mrs. Cerny was my kindergarten teacher at Lowell elementary. I think of her often. I have many special memories of her. I often "peed my pants" in class because you were then taken to her prize closet to pick a new pair. She caught on and then I got a prize if I didn't pee my pants.
She was an incredible teacher and I am a better human because of the foundation she gave me.

Dear Alice and family,
We are so sorry to learn of Dorothy's passing. She was truly a special lady. We joined a bible study group this past week. One of the questions was "Who do you look to as an example of Christian living?" I immediately thought of Dorothy. I received the email notice of her funeral service next week. I hope to be there. In the past when I would send her a card, she would always call to thank me. I'm confident she has found peace in the Lord. Sincerely, Carole Lee

Dear Cerny friends, We were so very sorry to learn of your mom's death & wanted you to know that you are in our thoughts & prayers. Believe we'd heard your dad had passed away several years ago, too. Remember both of them & all of you from our Grace Lutheran growing up days. Believe I also took an art class with my mother from your dad the year Dave was in Viet Nam. Lots of good memories. Hard to visit Grace when we get back to SF & realize so many of the pillars of the church when we were there are now gone. Hope you are all doing well in life & that you'll be given the strength & comfort you need for each day. God's Peace, Dave & Ingrid
