Dorothy E. (Reinhold) Schiermeier

Funeral services for Dorothy E. Schiermeier, 93, Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue. Reverend Steve Lund will officiate. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in the Pilger Cemetery.

She passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center in Norfolk.

Dorothy was born on October 4, 1925, in Stanton County to Frank and Meta (Puls) Reinhold. After graduating from Pilger High School, she taught at a country school for a short time.

On November 23, 1945, Dorothy married Harold Schiermeier in Omaha. They made their home in Pilger where they raised three children. She worked for over 20 years at the Campbell Clinic in Norfolk. The couple later moved to Albuquerque, NM, where Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for a furniture store. After ten years, they returned to Norfolk and Dorothy worked at St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Care Center before retiring.

She was excellent at embroidery and knitting. The greatest joy of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her son Gary (Ronda) Schiermeier of Kimberling City, MO, daughter Pam (Mark) Weyhrich of Arnolds Park, IA, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Jeff Schiermeier, daughter in-law Marlene Schiermeier, and brother Howard Reinhold.
