Elton O. KollmarOctober 24, 1941 ~ April 1, 2019 (age 77)
A Memorial Service for Elton O’Dell Kollmar, 77, Norfolk, will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, at Home for Funerals at 1203 W. Norfolk Ave. Visitation with family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been set up with the Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska.
Elton passed away Monday, April 1, 2019. He was born October 24, 1941 to his parents Carl and Delia Darleen (Anderson) Kollmar in Neligh, NE. He graduated from Norfolk Senior High School in 1959. He began his 30-year career of retail store management while still in high school, working at The Golden Rule followed by Star Clothing and J.M. McDonalds. Elton then became a tax preparer until retirement.
On December 18, 1964, Elton married Judy Anne Clocker at the Methodist Church in Norfolk.
Elton was an armchair contestant for Jeopardy. He was an avid reader of the newspaper and books. He enjoyed reading and watching anything having to do with politics, history, sports, and nature documentaries.
He is survived by his wife; daughters Ruthie Kollmar of Norfolk and Kristi (Troy) Lawson of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Kalie, Gabe and Landon; brothers Roger Kollmar (Norma) of Riverbank, CA, Mel Kollmar of Denver, CO, and David (Marilyn) Short of Stevenson, WA.
Elton was preceded in death by his parents and brother Carl.
