Eugene "Bud" Sunderman

Funeral services for Eugene E. "Bud" Sunderman, 91, of Norfolk, formerly of Madison will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran  Church, Madison.  Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the church. Resseguie Funeral Home, Madison, is in charge of arrangements.

            Bud died Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Faith Regional Health Services.

            Eugene “Bud” Sunderman was born February 16, 1928 to Emil and Ella Sunderman. Bud grew up on the family farm southwest of Madison. He attended St. John’s church and school in rural Madison. Then graduated from Madison High School in 1946. After graduation, Bud worked in South Dakota with his uncle Bud Belzer.

            On August 6, 1950, Bud married Dona McKeown at Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Four children were born to this union. They lived in Columbus for 11 years then moved to the family farm until 1993 when they moved into Madison. In March 2018, Bud and Dona moved to the Meadows in Norfolk where Dona continues to reside.

            Bud was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for several years in various capacities. He loved farming and woodworking, but most of all he enjoyed time spent with family.

            He is survived by his wife Dona, four children; Tom (Cindy) Sunderman of Fremont, Sue (Lyle) Jurgens of Madison, Mark (Julie) Sunderman of Humphrey, and Craig (Jacque) Sunderman of Highland Village, TX; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

             Bud was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don.
