Funeral services for Harlan E. Cox, 80, of Stanton will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at New England Congregational Church, Stanton.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service, at the church. Interment will be in Prospect View Cemetery, Pierce. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

            Harlan died Friday, July 26, 2019 at Premier Estates of Pierce at their temporary location in Norfolk.

            Harlan was born April 7, 1939, to Ira and Mabel (Gilman) Cox in Pierce County.

            Harlan grew up in Norfolk, and worked at Brandies in Omaha for a time. He moved back to Norfolk.  Harlan married DeAnna Timm on March 22, 1957. They were later divorced. Harlan then married Rose Terrill, they also divorced.

            Harlan worked at Midwest Beef, Norfolk Rendering Plant for 10 years and then drove truck for himself and Norfolk Iron and Metal. He retired in 1989 due to disability.

            Harlan married Elsie Schultz in 1996.

            Harlan enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching and camping.

            Harlan is survived by his children LeAnn and Stuart Stuthman of Richland, NE, Harlan A. and Donna Cox of Norfolk, Rodney and Sharon Cox of Beemer, Billy and Kelly Cox of Stanton, Heidi Harris of Stanton, his step-children, Linda, Daniel, Richard, Robert and William, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and 3 sisters, Marge, Lou and Mickey.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elsie on June 23, 2018, his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.
