Jane F. (Hale) Busskohl

Funeral Services for Jane F. Busskohl, 88, Norfolk, will be 2:30 p.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Norfolk.  Reverend Dustin Petz will officiate.  Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Home for Funerals.

She passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk.

Jane Francis was born June 22, 1929 to her parents Edwin F. and Emma O. (Benson) Hale in Omaha, Nebraska.  Jane grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Her family moved to Norfolk her sophomore year of high school and she graduated from Norfolk Senior High School.  Jane attended the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and belonged to the Alpha Phi sorority. 

On September 24, 1950, Jane married Doyle Busskohl at the First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk.  To this union four children were born Stephen, Shari, David, and Susan.

The family have fond memories of Jane’s sacrificial love for her husband and family.  She constantly nurtured and cherished her relationships with family and friends.  She enjoyed reading, especially cookbooks, and was an excellent cook.  Jane was very generous and loved giving gifts to others, especially her family.

She and Doyle had the opportunity to travel many places around the world.

Jane loved her friends from PEO, the International Wine & Food Society, Norfolk Dinner & Dance, Methodist Women Circle, Dinner Bridge Club, Book Club and Sewing Club.

She is survived by her husband Doyle, children Stephen (Anita) Busskohl, Shari (Roger) Riggert of Centennial, CO, David (Cindy) Busskohl, and Susan Busskohl, grandchildren Luke, Cassie, Kristalynn, Eric and Alex, great grandchildren Noah, Brinly and Braelynn, and sister Ann (Greig) Steiner of Estes Park, CO.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughters Erika and Amanda.

Memorials requested to the First United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association Nebraska Chapter.
