Jayne B. (Dubes) Nixon

Memorial Services for Jayne B. Nixon, 90, Norfolk, will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Norfolk.  Reverend Peter Jark-Swain will officiate.  Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.  Visitation with family will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue. 

Mrs. Nixon passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at her home in Norfolk. 

Jayne Beverly was born February 13, 1929 in Eagle Rock, California to her parents William and Mae (Westlund) Dubes.  She graduated from high school in Sioux City, IA and attended college at Morningside College in Sioux City. 

On November 10, 1951, Jayne married Burton E. Nixon in Sioux City.  The couple made their home in Columbus for a short time before moving to Norfolk. 

Jayne loved to play tennis, golf and bridge.  She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Norfolk.  Jayne was a member of several other groups including the Women of Trinity, the Norfolk Country Club and the Jayettes.  Jayne served as treasurer for the Women of Trinity.  Jayne especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children Carol Nixon of Kansas City, MO, Scott (Jan) Nixon of Norfolk, and Robin (Richard) Dolesh of Norfolk, four grandchildren Katie Austin, Sam Nixon, Klancy Nixon, and Charles Nixon, three great grandchildren Sophie, Ella and Abram and sister-in-laws Marsha Crain of Norfolk  and Patty Dubes of Bismarck, ND.

Jayne was preceded in death by her husband, Burton, who passed away in July of 2015, parents and brother William Dubes.

Memorials requested to the Trinity Episcopal Church or the Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska.
