Jean M. (Breunig) Starks

Mass of Christian Burial for Jean M. Starks, 66, Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk.  Reverend Scott Schilmoeller will be the celebrant.  Graveside Service will be 3:30 p.m., Saturday at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Wahoo, NE.  Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church.  Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

She passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at her home in Norfolk.

Jean was born May 8, 1951 to her parents Jerome and Weta (Nonnamaker) Breunig in Wahoo, Nebraska.  She graduated from Wahoo Neumann High School.  Following graduation, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Education from the College of St. Mary’s in Omaha. 

On June 7, 1975, Jean married Norm Fendrick at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.  From this union, two daughters were born, Erin and Natalie.  For a short time, Jean taught school at Synder Public Schools.  The couple later divorced.

In 1995, Jean married Doug Starks at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk. 

Jean enjoyed crocheting and country music.  She loved spending time with friends.

Jean is survived by her daughters Erin (Darren) Wilcox and Natalie (John) Leader, grandchildren Richard, Lennon, Lewis and Millie, step-mother Joyce Breunig, sister Jerel Geren, brother Charles Breunig, several nieces and nephews, and special friend Steve Leiwer.

She was preceded in death by parents Jerome and Weta, husband Doug, brother-in-law Pat Geren, and sister-in-law Nancy Breunig.
