John died Monday April 16, 2018 as a result of a workplace accident.

John James Gallop Jr. was born on March 13, 1958 to John James and Phyllis (Muhs) Gallop Sr. He attended school in Winside and graduated in 1976. After graduating from high school, he worked for his father at Winside Motor. In 1979, John went to work for Vulcraft where he worked for the past 39 years.  He was proud that he had a hand in building so many structures and facilities throughout his career.  In his spare time, he enjoyed working on old Fords, raising calves, riding his four- wheeler, sitting around a bonfire, and more than anything, spending time with his family.

He shared his passion for Ford trucks and Cornhusker football with the majority of his family. It was very common to find the whole family cheering on the Huskers in the fall season on a Saturday. Otherwise you could find him out working in the shop or spending time with his grandchildren.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his spouse Adele Gallop of Hoskins, his son John Gallop III of Brooklyn, NY, daughter Elsa and son-in-law Josh Parsons and 3 precious grandchildren: Makinzie, Tysen, and Hunter. He is also survived by his mother Phyllis, siblings Warren Gallop of Winside, Barbara (Dean) Junck of Carroll, Beverly (Robert) Neel of Wayne, Nancy (Wayne) Schulz of Battle Creek, Laurie (Ed) Lienemann of Hoskins, father in- law Delmar Shipley, in-laws Nancy Whisinnand, Doug Shipley, and David Shipley all of Norfolk, Kathy (Larry) Rohlff of Carroll, and Peggy (Carl) Johnson of Wayne.  He leaves behind several nephews, nieces, and great nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his father John Gallop Sr., mother-in-law Betty Jochens, brother-in-law Marc Whisinnand, and sister-in-law Tonda Shipley.
