My mom, Lois, loved your mom like a little sister and so enjoyed their travels together and love of Husker football. I have fond memories of your farm when I was a kid, too. Renée and Leighton, I am so sorry for you and your families’ loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I first met your mom/grandma 14 1/2 years ago at First Baptist Church. She volunteered for the Awana program every week. She also brought Buddy and his sister—they lived across the street from Joyce. Things were often “bumpy “ at Buddy’s house.
One day Joyce was telling me how Buddy would come over to just visit with Joyce. She said they sat on the floor and set up the barn with the animals and wagons and tractors—all the stuff they needed—and they would play “farm”. That is how I will always remember Joyce. Showing the love of Jesus to a little boy who needed a grandma.
I am sorry for our current lose of fellowship with Joyce, but if you know Jesus, I am sure you will be with her again. She loved all of you so very much.

Thank you so much Norma. I had forgotten about that. I hope that Buddy was able to get a few moments away from his troubles and helped him feel appreciated by someone.
