Julia F. (Holland) Webster

Private Family Graveside Services for Julia F. “Judy” Webster, 89, Norfolk, will be at a later date at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview, NE.  Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

She passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Premier Estates of Pierce in Pierce, NE.

Julia Frances was born in Cedartown, GA on May 9, 1928 to her parents Cecil and Lucille (Whitehead) Holland.  When she was five years old, the family moved to Sparrows Point, MD.  She graduated from Sparrows Point High School in 1945.  In 1948, she graduated as a  nurse from Church Home and Hospital in Baltimore, MD.  She worked at John’s Hopkins Hospital until 1951.  She became an Army nurse during the Korean War.  She met William Webster when she was stationed in Chicago, IL.  She was sent to Tokyo, Japan as a First Lieutenant for 14 months.

When she returned and was discharged from Army service she married William Webster on May 22, 1953 at the University of Chicago Hilton Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church.  They lived in Lincoln, NE while he finished law school and she worked at the VA Hospital there for 3 years.  They then moved to Lewistown, MT for 2 years and then moved to Pierce in 1958, where William joined Edwin Beech as an associate and later opened his own law practice.  Julia worked as a Registered Nurse Consultant for Pierce Manor for many years.

She is survived by her daughter Jean and her husband Dr. Michael McHale of Sioux Falls, SD, son John Webster and his wife Monica of Tucson, AZ, four grandchildren Stephen McHale and his wife Michelle of Mission, KS, Ann and her husband Lucas Drvol of Minneapolis, MN, John McHale of Sioux Falls, SD and Thomas Webster of Tucson, AZ, two great grandsons Benjamin and Theodore McHale of Mission, KS.

Julia was preceded in death by her husband William Webster on March 4, 2010.
