Funeral services for Leta Lou Burnison, 82, of Norfolk will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 4, 2019, at First United Methodist Church, Norfolk: Reverend Dr. Raponzil Drake will officiate.  Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk.  Visitation will be Wenesday from 4-7 p.m. at Home for Funerals 1203 W Norfolk Ave, Norfolk, Nebraska.

Leta, passed away Sunday March 31, 2019 at Heritage of Bel-Air.

Leta was born Deember 28, 1936 in Hastings, Iowa.  The daughter of Burl V. and Mary (Hurst) Harold.  She graduated from Hastings, Iowa High School and started her career at Thos. D. Murphy CO. in Red Oak, Iowa.  On April 5, 1958, Leta married Richard (Dick) Burnison at the Methodist church in Hastings, Iowa. To this union they had 4 children Dennis, Phillip, Randall and Mary Lou. They lived in Greenfield and Red Oak, Iowa before making their home in Stanton, Nebraska, in March of 1966.  Leta was an Amazing Home maker and took great pride in her home and family.  Her garden of vegetables and flowers were such a beauty for all to see.  She was a perfectionist when baking cookies, candies, pies and fruit cakes.  Was known to many as the Best Sugar Cookie Baker!!  There was a great joy sharing her gift of baking with friends which was a great joy and family and being gathered around her kitchen. Her smile would melt your heart!  There were a few lucky neighbor kids that she provided daycare for.  Her faith was very important and she showed it by helping at church events and though her gift of food. Being a Grandmother was such a great joy teaching them about faith and love while laughing and enjoying time spent together. The love she had for her dear husband, kids and a special bond with her twin sissy, Neta Sue will be remembered by all who encountered her.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Dennis and Beth Burnison of Aurora, Colo., Phillip and Lynnda Burnison of Laramie, Wyo., Randall and Mary Beth Burnison of Louisville and Mary Lou Rohrich of Norfolk, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 siblings and spouses, Wendall and Janet Harold, Omaha, Florine Rife, Mondamin, Iowa, Leland and Patty Harold, Clackamas, OR, sister-in-laws Phyllis Harold, Iowa, Karen Pridemore, Missouri, Sandy and George Currie, Iowa, Janet Valone, Florida, brother-in-law Lowell and Jan Burnison, Iowa.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 3 brothers and her twin sister.
