Graveside Services for Lillie M. Butcher, 92, Lincoln, formerly of Norfolk, will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2019 at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Reverend Caleb Lind will officiate. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Butcher passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at the Lexington Assisted Living Center in Lincoln.
Lillie Mae was born January 30, 1927 in Blakesburg, IA the daughter of John and Matilda (Hansen) Harmsen.
She grew up on the family farm near Walnut, IA. On October 18, 1944, Lillie married Harlow “Butch” Butcher at the Baptist Church in Atlantic, IA.
In 1953, the couple moved to Norfolk. Lillie has been a member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years. Lillie and Butch were part of a social group known as the “Dirty Dozen” which formed with other couples from square dancing. She was the last surviving member. Lillie had the opportunity to travel extensively.
She is survived by her children Arvona and Kenneth Jaeger of Lincoln, and David and Karen Butcher of Lincoln, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Lillie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and two sisters.
