Memorial Services for Linda B. Carey, 71, Norfolk, will be 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Home for Funerals. Reverend Dustin Petz will officiate. Inurnment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
She passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Linda was born on December 6, 1946 to her parents Albert Leslie and Hilda (Bell) Carey in Indianapolis, IN. In 1965, she graduated from Mt. Zion High School in Mt. Zion, IL. Linda attended school at the Unversity of Wisconsin and graduated with her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Also, she obtained her master’s degree in adult education.
Linda served as the director of League of Human Dignity for 20 years. She served on the Board of Directors of Arc Norfolk in support of her daughter. Also, she worked with Nebraska Vocational Rehabilitation in promoting technology for the disabled. Linda retired in 2007.
Linda enjoyed reading and art.
She is survived by her adopted daughter Kathryn Monica Carey of Norfolk, brother and sister-in-law Alan and Janis Carey of Fort Mill, SC, and nephew Wilson Carey and his wife Rebecca.
