Lois M (Boelling) Wagner

A Celebration of Life service for Lois M. Wagner, 96, of Norfolk, will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Reverend Dave Goehmann will officiate. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

Lois M. Wagner, 96, of Norfolk passed away on January 7, 2018.  She was born on June 17, 1921 in Gurley, Nebraska to Rev. Emil and Anna Minnie Boelling.  Lois was a 1938 graduate of Norfolk High School and a 1940 graduate of Midland College School of Business.  She married Alvin S. Ahlman on August 26, 1941 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hoskins.

She worked at various banks/financial institutions early in her career as well as working for Congressman Karl Stephen in Washington D.C. during World War II.  She worked at the Delay First National Bank & Trust Company in Norfolk from 1966 until her retirement in 1984.

Lois was active in various women’s organizations in her churches and the community.  She was a dedicated wife and mother of two children.  She enjoyed the many camping, boating and fishing trips spent with her family.  She also enjoyed sewing, reading and playing bridge with her friends.  She had 52 years of wedded life with Alvin until his passing in 1993.

On August 16, 1997, Lois married Roy E. Wagner.  They were married for 9 years until Roy’s passing in 2006.  Together they enjoyed spending time with Roy’s four children and their families and Lois’s two children and their families.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Virginia Martin of Phoenix, Arizona, son Mark and wife Darcy Ahlman of Lincoln, Nebraska; sister, Karen Fox of Fremont, Nebraska; grandchildren Jennifer and husband Justin Suhr of Phoenix Arizona, Rev. Dr. Christopher and wife Elizabeth Ahlman of Houston, Texas, Jeremy and wife Angela Ahlman of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Dana and husband Matthew Moore of Omaha, Nebraska, and ten great-grandchildren.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Alvin and Roy, a daughter in infancy, and sisters Eleanor Witt and Kathryn Hintz.
