Margaret L. (Kuther) Nuesch

Visitation for Margaret Lavern Nuesch, 86, of Pierce, will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the Home for Funerals in Norfolk. Private services for Margaret will be at a later date

Mrs. Nuesch passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Faith Regional Health Services.

Margaret was born on September 23, 1931, in Pierce County, the daughter of David and Margaret (Wachter) Kuther. She was raised on the family’s ranch west of Pierce.

After her education, she worked on the family ranch and later at the Pierce County ASCS Office. She also gave accordion lessons to many individuals throughout northeast Nebraska.

In 1956, Margaret married Minrod “Mike” Nuesch in Albion, NE. The couple lived on a farm northeast of Pierce where Margaret was active in the farming operation.

Margaret loved music. She would listen to country, polka and waltzes. She would often entertain her family by playing her keyboard accordion. Margaret even took up the electric guitar while being a busy farmwife and mother.

She always raised a large garden of lettuce, tomatoes, & sweetcorn and frequently sold produce to Mary's Café in Norfolk and to several area grocery stores.

Margaret was a very kind and compassionate person, often putting the needs of others before her own. She loved to reconnect with old friends and enjoyed going to her grandchildren's activities.

She is survived by her children: Steven Nuesch, Stewart Nuesch, Melody Nuesch, Michael Nuesch and Gaylen (Kristi) Nuesch; and seven grandchildren: Eric (Kate) Nuesch, Kelsey (Jason) Curtiss, Amy (Michael) Schroer, Cody Nuesch, Lexy Nuesch, Braden Nuesch, and Brody Nuesch.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1986, her grandson Garrett Nuesch, her brothers, David Kuether, Gordon Kuether and Melvin Wachter.
