Mary F. (Horn) Frazier

Funeral Services for Mary F. Frazier, 89, longtime Norfolk resident, will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Norfolk.  Reverend Caleb Lind will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.  Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.  Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

 She passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at The Collier Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.   In the recent months, Mary was blessed to have the opportunity to live in Colorado near family. 

Mary was born June 29, 1928 to her parents, Frank C. and Jewel (Stokes) Horn in Fayette, Alabama.  She graduated from Fayette High School in 1946.  After high school, she moved to California where she started her long career in retail.  Her first job was in a local drug store where she learned the value of offering excellent personal service.  She married Daniel Frazier in 1947 and continued to work until her daughter, Danna, was born.  In 1980, she moved to Norfolk and began working at Schwesers department store.  For almost 20 years, Mary served her customers and enjoyed many warm relationships with co-workers and customers.  She especially loved the decorations and the busy feel of the Christmas holidays at Sunset Plaza.   

Mary’s hobbies and interests included cooking, puzzles and taking care of her home.  She also loved to watch sports –especially football and golf.  In retirement, her favorite activity was traveling to Colorado to visit her daughter and granddaughter.  On those visits, she loved to babysit so she could laugh and be silly all night.

She is survived by her daughter, Danna (David) Hollander of Arvada, Colorado; granddaughter, Erin Kemp of Arvada, Colorado; and brother, Frank Horn of Norfolk.  

Mary was preceded in death by Danna’s father, Daniel Frazier, sister-in-law, Bette Horn and parents, Jewel and Frank C. Horn.
