Myril M. McCracken

Graveside services for Myril M. McCracken, 102, of Norfolk will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Prospect View Cemetery, Pierce. Home for Funerals, is in charge of arrangements.

            Mrs. McCracken died Friday, December 15, 2017 at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center.

            Myril was born July 27, 1915 at Pierce, NE to Robert M. and Elsa (Hoefs) Powers. They moved to Wisner when she was six weeks old and to Norfolk when she was six months old.

            She attended Norfolk Public Schools and graduated from Norfolk High School in 1933. Myril attended Wayne State College and Norfolk Business College.

            She married G. W. Bud McCracken on June 28, 1936. They left Norfolk in 1947 and lived at several locations while Mr. McCracken was employed by Nash-Finch Co. They returned to Norfolk in 1970 and retired.

            Mrs. McCracken was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and was a member of Beulah Chapter #40 O.E.S.

            She was a charter member of Job’s Daughters Bethel #17 and served as an Honored Queen and Bethel Guardian.

            Mrs. McCracken is survived by cousins and many close friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband on January 25, 2000.
