Funeral services for Norbert E. Deitloff, 90, of Norfolk will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk. Visitation will be 1-hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran  Cemetery, south of Creston, NE, with military honors by The American Legion Hartman Post 84 Honor Guard, Columbus and the Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

            Norbert died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Norfolk Veteran's Home.

            Mr. Deitloff was born June 5, 1927 to Ernest and Mary (Hellmers) Deitloff, in Stanton, County. He attended Foreman School in Stanton County, Jefferson School, Raasch School, Bourne School, Washington School, and District 87 all in Norfolk. He delivered milk with his father and worked at Omaha Cold Storage and later at Fairacres Dairy.

            Norbert served in the Engineering Corps of the Armed Services in 1945 and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. He was a member of American Legion Post 55 in Bueno Vista, CO and the Norfolk VFW.

            He married LaDonna Toelle of Wisner June 5, 1949. They farmed in Winside, Madison, and Primrose, NE. He also worked 6 years for Spalding Implement. In 1974, Norbert moved to Norfolk and drove truck for Clark Brothers, for 12 years. He then worked for the Junior High until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing.

            In 1974, Norbert married Dolores Johannes of Leigh. They were married in Omaha, NE.

            Norbert is survived by 3 sons Ronald Deitloff, Russell Deitloff, and David Deitloff; 2 daughters Sherry Konicek and Debra Steffensmeier, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, stepson Marlin Johannes, 3 stepdaughters Nancy Siefken, Lorrie Cada, Genise Spittler, and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, a brother Junior Deitloff, and 2 sisters LaVetta Kesting and Lou Jean Ferris.

            He is preceded in death by his wife Dolores, his parents, stepson Vernon Johannes, a sister Esther, a brother Ervin, and 2 step grandsons.
