Funeral Services for Ray T. Clausen, 83, Norfolk, will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue. Reverend Dave Goehmann will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the chapel. Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
He passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at his home in Norfolk.
Ray was born June 28, 1935 in Norfolk, NE to his parents Harvey and Esther (Klawitter) Clausen.
He married JoAnna Dranselka on July 1, 1956 at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk, NE.
Ray was a plumber all his life and a jack of all trades. He built several houses. He restored tractors, a fire truck, an Oldsmobile Starfire and he was working on a homemade trailer. Ray helped everyone with anything. He accomplished a lot with his 8th grade education. Ray enjoyed fishing on his homemade airboat. Ray made playhouses, toy boxes, and picnic tables for his grandchildren, out of wood he cut on his own sawmill. Ray will be fondly remembered for his famous phrase, “It’s Good Enough For Who It’s For”.
Ray is survived by his children Cindy (Bruce) Paul, Tom (Julie) Clausen, Mike Clausen, and Chris (Denise) Clausen, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, sisters Agnes (John) Gilman, Patricia Sothan, and Margaret Ironthunder, sisters-in-law Esther Behrens and Charlene Clausen, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnna who passed on October 10, 2012, parents, siblings Myrtle (Bob) Follette, Carl Clausen, Harold Clausen, Ralph Clausen, and Kenneth Clausen, and brother-in-law Don Sothan.
