Reba J. (Beckner) Hasebroock

June 29, 1934 ~ June 18, 2019 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Funeral Services for Reba J. Hasebroock, 84, Ft. Calhoun, formerly of Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 24, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk.  Reverend Randy Rasmussen will officiate.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will Sunday 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue.  Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.

She passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Autumn Pointe Assisted Living in Ft. Calhoun, NE.

Reba June was Wayne, Nebraska on June 29, 1934 to her parents Harry & Marilla (Hale) Beckner.  She grew up on a farm & attended Wayne schools graduating from Wayne High School in 1953.  On June 13, 1954, Reba married Gerald I. Hasebroock, they were married 46 years before his passing.  They started their life together in Wayne before moving to Norfolk, LaVista, Omaha, and then back to Norfolk.

Reba worked outside of the home selling Avon and working in the Omaha public school, and at Target as a bookkeeper. When she moved to Norfolk, she worked as a seamstress for Dudley’s Dry-Cleaning until she retired. Reba spent a few years living in their camper going south to Texas and Arizona enjoying life during the winter months and coming back in the spring. When she was able, she had a large garden, and pass the joy of gardening and canning to her children. Reba loved being around kids, she became a para at Grant School for a few school years to help in their reading program.

Reba also enjoyed many hobbies including: sewing, quilting, crocheting, other crafts, playing her organ, and playing cards.

Reba is survived by 4 children:  Virginia (Bill) Kermoade, Gerald (Michelle) Hasebroock, David (Teresa) Hasebroock, & Kathy (Mike) Elkins; a brother, Harry Leland Beckner; 12 grandchildren & 9 great-grandchildren and a niece and a nephew plus many great grand nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald, infant son, Delbert, & great-granddaughter Keeley.
