I moved to Lincoln many years ago, but was a patient of Dr. Authier thru the many years that I lived in Norfolk. My condolences to his family. He was a wonderful outgoing warm person. I will never forget when he told me how old I was by my eyesight. I had just turned 40 and he was correct. So funny.

So sad to hear of Dr. Authier's passing. His spirit and lust for life just made him seem like someone who should live forever. Even though he was 80, he is gone too soon. My deepest, heartfelt sympathy.

Dr. Fitted me with my first pair of contact lens back in 1968. I will never forget our first meeting, his smile along with his instructions as to how to care for the contacts. His prescription last me many, many years from Nebraska to California. Please accept my sincere sympathy. May the good memories keep him close in the days and years to come.

Will miss you Doc....................one of the best bosses a girl could ever have. So many memories over the past 38 years. So glad you and Sandy took a chance on a small town girl like me. Everything I am today is because of the great influence you and Sandy had on my life. Rest in Peace my friend.

I was very saddened to hear of Rick’s passing. He was always one of my favorite NE optometrists. I enjoyed teasing him about how bad Guinness Beer tastes. He would just smile and take another sip! Always a gentleman. We will truly miss him.

I send thoughts and prayers to the family. Dr Authier was my special eye doctor, he diagnosed my with retinitis pigmentosa and made a point of educating me on what to expect, he answered every question no matter how small. He made me feel like I was important instead of just a patient. Even brought paperwork for me to my home so I would not have to find a driver. The world needs more doctors like him. I was sad when he retired but he deserved all the enjoyment he had. I pray Sandy and his family will find peace knowing he is now sitting by God and telling stories of all his travels
