Robert E. "Bob" Herrick

Memorial Services for Robert E. “Bob” Herrick, 90, Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2018 at the Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Ave. Visitation with family will be one hour prior to service at the chapel.  Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

He passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at Premier Estates of Pierce.

Robert Eugene was born February 19, 1928 to his parents Charles and Margaret (Duchman) Herrick in Underwood, Iowa.  Bob began his working career as a milk delivery driver in Underwood and surrounding areas.  Later on, he operated a Shell Gas Station in Council Bluffs, Iowa. 

On June 25, 1955, Bob married Helen Carter in Council Bluffs.  In 1968, the couple moved the family to Norfolk where Bob took a position as a Field Representative for Mid America Dairy.  He retired in 1992.

Bob was an avid reader of the newspaper and enjoyed a good cup of coffee.  Bob and Helen enjoyed gambling at the casinos.

He is survived by his wife Helen of 62 years, daughter and son-in-law Diane (Gene) Cederburg of Pierce, son and daughter-in-law Brian and Jennifer Herrick of Battle Creek, daughter-in-law Bonnie Herrick of Wisner, grandsons Charles Herrick, Joshua Collins and Jacob Herrick, granddaughters Amanda (Brice) Buryanek and Brianna Herrick, great grandchildren Cassandra, Kiley, Kaelyn, Corianne, Keira, and Boston, and sister Bonny Wheeldon of Council Bluffs. 

Bob was preceded in death by son Stan Herrick, brothers Charles, Dean and Dale, and sisters Ilene, Adalene, Verle, and Betty.
