Bobbi and family, I finally made the connection....so sorry for your loss. She sounded like a wonderful grandmother! Please accept my sincere sympathy and prayers for you and your family.

I was sorry to read of Adelyn's passing. I am sure you don't remember me. My parents were DeForest and Luella Jansen from Creston. My grandmother, Dollie Stevens Jansen, was a sister to your grandmother, Lucille. Our family always called your dad Vernie. (Who would be a first cousin to my father.) I believe he saw some tough battles during WWII. When your folks were ready to get married, they called my folks at the spur of the moment to be witnesses to their marriage at the courthouse, if memory serves me correctly. Your folks were good people, very hard working. And when I made a trip to Oregon, I even found your grandmother's resting place in Portland. You older ones and I played together when we were little, a long time ago. I have fond memories with your folks on the farm with big family reunions. I even remember your grandma and grandpa Severa. As I said, you probably don't know who I am, but just wanted you to know I am sorry for your loss.
