Funeral services for Alice Miller, age 91, of Battle Creek, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. Reverend Joseph Leech will officiate, with burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church.

On April 25, 2024, Alice Miller, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 91 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Alice Elaine Miller was born on September 19, 1932, to Alvan and Ella Marshall at the Lutheran Hospital in Norfolk, NE. Alice was baptized on June 8, 1939, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Her family lived near Hoskins until she was four years old before moving to Norfolk for the remainder of her youth. Alice attended St. Paul Lutheran School until the eighth grade. She was confirmed on May 19, 1946, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She went to Norfolk High School, graduating with the class of 1950.
Alice was then employed at Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator. On February 9, 1958, she was united in marriage to Donald Miller of Battle Creek. They resided in Norfolk and four years later moved to a farm south of Battle Creek, where they also joined Heights Lutheran Church. In 1980 they moved into Battle Creek.
Alice was involved with a variety of volunteer programs within the community. She volunteered at the Community Pride Care Center and was a member of the Community Pride Care Givers.
She enjoyed volunteering at St. John Lutheran Church where she was an active member for over 40 years. She was a member of the St. John Ladies Aid where she served as treasurer, and she was in the church choir for many years. Alice enjoyed being a member of the Reading Grandparents Program at St. John School of Battle Creek beginning in January 1993.
Alice began volunteering at the Lutheran Hospital in Norfolk in 1977 and continued to give her time at Faith Regional Health Services. She became the Battle Creek chairperson in 1986. She worked in the cafeteria, and later she also volunteered in the gift shop.
Alice enjoyed being outdoors and spending quality time with family. She was an avid golfer and bowler and loved being in a bowling league for many years.
She is survived by her children, Roger (Kylie) Miller, Scott (Deb) Miller, and Julie (Steve) Hendricksen; several grandchildren, Brittnie (Kyle) Kotrous, Ryan (Tara) Miller, Keith (Shelby) Miller, LeAnn Miller, Kendra Miller (Trevor Shibuya), Ella Hendricksen; great-grandchildren, Wesley Miller, Riker Miller, and Rowyn Miller; and numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Alvan and Ella Marshall; sister, Norma Cole; daughter, Kathie Hasbrouck; son-in-law, Rod Hasbrouck; grandchild, Janelle Miller (Lars Barcel); and great-grandchildren, Natasha Lambrecht, Lars Barcel, Jr., and Miles Kotrous.
Memorials should be designated to St. John Lutheran School in Battle Creek.
