Funeral services for Arleen F. Pojar Black, age 83, of Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2025, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue, in Norfolk.
Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.
Arleen passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Stanton Health Center in Stanton.
Arleen F. Pojar Black was born September 30, 1941, in Pierce, Nebraska to Elmer and Louise (Nurnberg) Koepke. Arleen married Leonard Joseph Pojar on April 20, 1963, in Pierce, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with six children: Shirley, Linda, Carol, Nancy, Roger, and Martha.
Leonard passed away on May 20, 1999.
Arleen married Robert Black on June 15, 2013, in Madison, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Norfolk.
Arleen worked various jobs throughout her life, but family was the most important to her. Arleen loved to quilt, sew, and work on craft projects. She enjoyed reading, and square dancing. Arleen was active in the Red Hat Society. Above all, she cherished her time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; and brother, Leroy Koepke.
Arleen is survived by her husband of 12 years, Robert; children, Shirley Lind of Norfolk, Linda (Steve) Matthies of Stanton, Carol (Kelly) Eddy of Pierce, Nancy (Brian) Korth of Randolph, Roger (Brandi) Pojar, Sr., and Martha (Richard) Books of Columbus; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
