Mass of Christian Burial for Arlie Bichlmeier, age 78, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk. Reverend Brian Hula will be celebrant, with burial in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Pierce, Nebraska.

Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the church, with a 6:30 p.m. Vigil Service.

Arlie died Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.

Arlie Lawrence Bichlmeier, son of Lawrence and Marie (Hofmaier) Bichlmeier, was born September 2, 1947, in Osmond. He attended school in Pierce, graduating from Pierce High School.

He worked in construction, occasionally travelling to volunteer his time to assist in building churches. Arlie enjoyed woodworking and auto racing.

He is survived by his siblings, Vivian (Emil) Boubin, Gene (Lavone) Bichlmeier, Alex Bichlmeier, Mary (Dennis) Mrsny, and Joanne Bichlmeier; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Marie; brother, Duane Bichlmeier; and his aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Parish in Norfolk.
