Services for Barbara Oleson, 81, of Stanton, will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 25, at the Evangelical Free Church in Stanton. Pastor Clint Hogrefe will officiate. A lunch will follow the service at the church.
Barbara passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at Faith Regional Health Services, Norfolk, NE.
Barbara Ruth Oleson, was born July 20, 1943, in Idabel, Oklahoma the youngest of three daughters of Alta and Savannah (Crenshaw) Coleman. The family moved to California when Barbara was young. She graduated from Ceres High School, in Ceres, CA in 1961. She married Lloyd Dupsky in 1962 and they eventually settled in Stanton, NE. Lloyd died of cancer in February 1987. Barbara then met Vernon Oleson in a grief sharing group, as he had also recently lost his spouse. They married in 1989 and settled in Stanton. Barbara and Vern shared a passion for wood-carving. Barbara also loved painting china, collecting, and quilting. She was a member of an area quilting club. Vern and Barabara traveled to 49 states in their camper as well as to Nova Scotia before Vern passed away in November 2010.
Barbara was a member of Stanton Evangelical Free Church and enjoyed being a part of the church’s “Renewing Your Mind” reading group the past three years. She rested her hope for salvation and resurrection to eternal life in the Lord Jesus Christ.
