Bernadine passed away Friday, June 5, 2026, at Faith Health in Norfolk.

Bernadine Marie Gall was born on March 15, 1942, to William and Emma (Svitak) Gall of Howells, NE.

On October 17, 1962, Bernadine was united in marriage to Adolph E. Humlicek of Abie, NE at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Clarkson, NE. Rev. Father Charles J. Oborny officiated. Of this union, five children were born: Larry (Liz) Humlicek of Papillion, NE, Theresa (Don) Miller of Norfolk, NE, Rita (Butch) Woockman of Hartington, NE, Phyllis (Monte) Glaser of Norfolk, NE, and Agnes Humlicek (Mike Chambers) of Omaha, NE.

After marriage, Adolph and Bernadine moved to Linwood, NE to start their family. In 1968, they moved to Leigh, NE where they continued farming. In 1975, they bought an acreage and moved to Clarkson. Bernadine raised their family and offered childcare services for many years. She was an active member of the Catholic Church. Bernadine also worked at Stop Inn Café and Harry’s Place as a cook and baker for about 20 years.

Adolph passed away in 2002, so in the fall of 2006, Bernadine moved to Norfolk to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Bernadine joined Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she belonged to Alter Society, Catholic Workman, Rosary Crusaders, Legion of Mary, and Catholic Daughters. She loved gardening, canning, and baking. She would bake apple strudels, dumplings, kolaches, rolls, pies, and rosettes. Bernadine loved donating and sharing her talents with MANY people.

We truly believe that her ministry was her baking and sharing of those talents. Bernadine also enjoyed reading and playing with the grandchildren and great grandchildren, who also enjoyed her baking!

In addition to her children, Bernadine is survived by her 13 grandchildren, Scott Humlicek, Kevin Humlicek (Adam Lopez), Allison (Trenton) Steckelberg, Dylan Miller (Haley Ziemer), Ann (Grant) Fritsch, Andrew (Cassie) Glaser, Emily Woockman, Evan Glaser, Hailey Nicole Miller (fiancé Jacob Jacobsen), Caleb Woockman, Jonathan Glaser, and Luke Woockman; two great-grandchildren, Oaklee Ziemer Miller and Dakota Miller; siblings, Anton Gall of Clarkson, William (Marie) Gall of Clarkson, John (Donna) Gall of Norfolk, Alvin (Donna) Gall of Clarkson, Eileen Obteeshka of Newport, Oregon, and Kathy (Marvin) Keefover of Rochester, Michigan; sister-in-law, Margaret Humlicek of David City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph E. Humlicek (2002); daughter, Phyllis Glaser (2022); grandson, Matthew Woockman (2000); parents, William and Emma Gall; brothers, Stanley, Robert, and George Gall and their spouses Agnes, Roseann, and Henrietta; sister-in-law, Regina Gall; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Helen Dostal, Jerry and Ann Voboril, Terry Obteshka, and Edward Humlicek Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Edward and Anna (Oborny) Humlicek, Sr.; and nephews, Edward Voboril and Steven Gall.
