It is with profound sadness, yet a celebration of a life well-lived, that we announce the passing of Betty Lou Bove, a beacon of love and kindness in the Madison community on March 6th, 2024, at the age of 79.

She was born in Norfolk, Nebraska to Bessie and Irvin Bove. Betty Lou embodied resilience, compassion, and an enduring commitment to her family and those around her. Raised in Madison, she developed a passion for walleye fishing, card games, and successful outings to casinos with loved ones.

A proud graduate of Madison High School and Norfolk Community College (Class of 1964), Betty Lou's professional journey spanned roles at Offutt Air Force Base before she found her calling in sales, real estate, and finance back in her hometown. Above all, Betty Lou cherished family, offering unconditional support and wisdom.

Betty Lou also made her mark through dedicated service at Trinity United Methodist Church, contributing her time and spirit to the Madison Senior Center, Knights of Columbus, and beyond, enriching many lives within the Madison community.

She leaves behind a loving sister, Joan (Ken) Eyers of Lawton, IA; adored nieces and nephews, Michelle (Darin) Brown, Christie Petri, Michael (Laura) Long, Corey (Renee) Eyres, Tanya Jarchow, Nicole (Dan) Kies, and Jessica Bove; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Her spirit and guidance were the cornerstone of our family, a legacy that will forever flourish in our hearts.

Betty Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin (2005) and Bessie (2020); her brother, Dean (1993); and sister-in-law, Deb Livingston (2020).

Please join us to honor Betty Lou's remarkable journey through life. There will be a communal lunch afterwards at Trinity, celebrating the joy Betty Lou brought into our lives.

Though we mourn her loss, Betty Lou's spirit, love, and cherished memories continue to inspire us. Let us honor her memory by living our lives with the same kindness and generosity she exemplified. Rest in peace, dear Betty Lou.
