Sherry and Jan, What an amazing person Betty was. My Mom and Dad loved her. I don't ever remember her without that beautiful smile on her face. I remember that huge garden your parents planted every year. She will be greatly missed. May God wrap his loving arms around you in these difficult days. Lucy

Sherry and Jan,
I remember fondly my brother Paul and I playing with you kids at your house in Madison while our parents (John and Elaine Studts) played cards with your Mom and Dad in the kitchen. Betty would get out a tray of ice cubes and eat them as a snack while they all played cards. And I remember your family and ours boating together many times up at Gavins Point dam. Betty never forgot my Mom and came to visit her at Heritage of Bel-Air in Norfolk until her passing last year. She was a great lady and will be missed.

It is with great sadness that I learn of my high school classmates passing. Betty was a great friend in school and in the years since. There's less and less of us around.

Sherry, Jan and families,
We got to know your Mom and Grandma during our early married life in Madison. We banked at The Bank of Madison, and my employers did a lot of business with the Bank, so we saw and talked to Betty quite often. She was always so energetic and cheerful. In later years, we'd see her mowing the lawn or working in her huge garden. She was an active lady! Our sympathies to all.

I'm so glad I knew Betty. Her energy and bright light were examples of how to live life. Our church will miss her smile and devotion. And she is with her dear husband and those who have gone before. My sympathies to her family. With you, I celebrate her life.

To Grandma Ray's Family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Heaven has gained an angel that will keep them all on their toes. Grandma Ray had so much spunk, we loved being around her. When the Stoecker family in Lincoln, had gatherings we would get invited to join them, we would eat, have the best Angel Food cake made by Grandma Ray for Birthday's and play cards(pitch). She would get her bid on a hand that most people wouldn't even bid on. We will cherish our fond memories of Grandma Ray(that is the name we knew her by). Sending lots of hugs. You are all in our thoughts and prayers

So sorry to hear about Betty!! So many good memories of her at the church during my Sunday School years. I remember when my Dad was alive, Betty told him she wasn't moving anywhere until she was taken to Crown Hill. She must have know long ago that she would get exactly what she wanted. So many trips past their house in Madison admiring their beautiful garden as long as she could care for it!! You are all in my thoughts and prayers!!!
