Mass of Christian Burial for Carole Lou Armbruster, age 92, of Stanton, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 16, 2025, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanton. Reverend Patrick McLaughlin will be the celebrant, with interment in Stanton Cemetery.
The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Visitation will be a half hour prior to Mass with a 9:30 a.m. Rosary at the church.
Home for Funerals-Stanton is in charge of arrangements.
She passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Stanton Health Center.
Carole Lou was born November 21, 1932, in Stanton, Nebraska to Robert and LaVern (Wood) Denney. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1950.
On January 2, 1953, Carole Lou married Daniel Armbruster at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stanton.
Carole Lou and Dan grew up in Stanton, but spent most of their years in Aurora, Nebraska. Carole was active in the community and St. Mary's Catholic Church. At St. Mary's, Carole taught Catechism for many years and was a member of the Altar Society. She served on the Aurora Hospital Board and Library Board. Carole was a member of PEO and an avid bridge player belonging to several bridge groups.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel; daughter, Anne Garrett; and brothers-in-law, Ronald Schellpeper, Allen Wolff, George Benson, and Allan Neuhaus.
Carole Lou is survived by her children, Sarah (Douglas) Weedin of Cody, WY, Mary (Charles) Olsen of Fishers, IN, and David (Julie) Armbruster of Grand Junction, CO; son-in-law, Mike Garrett of Lincoln, NE; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; sisters, JoAnne Schellpeper of Stanton, Sharon Wolff of Norfolk, Mary Benson of Stanton, and Nannette Neuhaus of Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews.
