Chance passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Chance J. Becker was born on December 16, 1993, in Norfolk, Nebraska. At the age of two, he was lovingly adopted by Mike and Carla Becker, who nurtured his adventurous and caring nature.

As a child, Chance thrived in Cub Scouts, always eager to learn and explore. He was naturally creative, with a love for building, tinkering, and creating—whether with building or tools. That passion carried into adulthood, where he eventually started his own business, CJ’s Handyman Services, turning his skills into a career that helped countless people.

In high school, Chance excelled in music, earning state honors twice as a trombone player and performing with the Yankton Community Summer Concert Band for two years. His dedication to faith was evident as he received the Serra Award for serving Mass.

Chance graduated from Hartington Cedar Catholic High School in 2013 and went on to pursue trade school, earning his HVAC certification. His strong work ethic led him to positions with various companies across Nebraska, South Dakota, and Kansas. Chance also proudly completed Marine Corps boot camp, a testament to his resilience and determination.

Outside of work, Chance embraced life with passion. He adored his pit bull, Bella, and had a special fondness for Dodge trucks. Whether tinkering with vehicles, boating, or trout fishing, Chance found joy in the outdoors. He was known for his generosity and willingness to help others, often putting in long hours and even cooking Thanksgiving meals for friends.

Chance leaves behind cherished memories with his parents, Mike and Carla Becker; his brother, Jonathon (Kendra) Becker; three nieces; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Magnus and Beverly Mahle and Cyril and Eleanor Becker; step-grandfather, Duane Heidlebaugh; three uncles; and two aunts.

Chance’s life was a beautiful blend of creativity, hard work, loyalty, and love for family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
