De, Terry, and Todd: My parents, sisters, and I are so sorry to hear this news. We have fond memories living across the street from you. You were our second family and we took care of each other. I am so glad we were able to see each other last summer in Houston. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. May Kurt rest in eternal peace, and may God give you strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Condolences to family and Kurt's many friends. I had the privilege to work with Kurt and much appreciated his sense of humor and practical advise at the beginning of my career.

My heartfelt condolences to Dee, Terry, Todd and families on the loss of a wonderful man, husband, father and grandfather. During my college years rooming with Terry and Roger, "Dee and CR" were like another set of parents. In the years since, I'm grateful for the friendship and memories and times spent with the Kurtenbach family, including grandkids' track meets and the hunting fields near Wessington Springs, SD. God bless CR, who will be remembered with much love and respect by myself and my entire family.

It was heartbreaking to see Kurt's smiling face with the obituary. It captures him at his mischievous best. He enjoyed everything and his enthusiasm was contagious. We spent so much time together at work I felt we knew each other like brothers, not just friends. This loss hurts.
