Funeral services for Connie Hintz, age 80, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue, in Norfolk. Reverend Chris Asbury will officiate, with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.
The service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the chapel.
Connie died Monday, January 15, 2024, at Stanton Health Center in Stanton, Nebraska.
Connie M. (Buss) Hintz was born April 7, 1943, in Buffalo, New York to Edwin and Eula (Armitage) Buss. When Connie was two years old, she moved with her parents to Norfolk, Nebraska. She graduated from Norfolk High School in 1961 and went on to college at Northeast Community College.
On June 10, 1962, Connie married Garold W. Hintz. They farmed south of Norfolk. Connie worked at Walmart, starting in customer service, and worked her way up to becoming the store manager. She founded Poppy’s Pumpkin Patch in 1999 and was the owner and operator for 18 years.
Connie loved to travel. Some of her destinations were, Texas, Europe, Germany, Ireland, and Mexico. Connie enjoyed reading, gardening, art, all crafts, and interior design, as she was constantly redecorating. Most of all, Connie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, Tate.
Connie is survived by her son, Tom and wife Shelli (Soulliere) Hintz of Norfolk and their children, Jared, Kendyl, and Courtney; son, Tim and wife Deb (Johnson) Hintz of Norfolk and their children, Heide (Reid) and their daughter Tate, and Zach; son, Todd and wife Peg (Kuether) Hintz of Meadow Grove and their son Colten; and son, Tracey and wife Sara (Cline) Hintz of Norfolk; her siblings, Steve (Nancy) Buss, Lenny (Marjie) Buss, Jim (Linda) Buss, Randy (Kathy) Bjorklund, Bobbi (Scott) Olson, Eddie (Debbie) Buss, Penni (Gary) Doser, Jeff (Vicki) Buss, and Pete Gaffney; sister-in-law, Karen Buss; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Eula; stepfather, Jack Gaffney; spouse, Garold; infant son, David; brother, Larry Buss; and in-laws, August and Elsie Hintz.
