Corinne Swogger

Funeral services for Corinne Swogger, age 92, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Reverend Paul Hirsch will officiate, with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Norfolk.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Corinne died Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk.

On March 2, 1932, Corinne Clara Swogger (Stuckwisch) was born to Otto and Eleanor Stuckwisch (Eucker) on their farm southwest of Battle Creek, Nebraska. She was baptized at St. Peters Heights Church in rural Madison County, Nebraska, on April 3, 1932. Corinne attended Madison County rural grade school then Lutheran School in Columbus, Nebraska, and St. Paul's Lutheran School in Norfolk, Nebraska, graduating from Norfolk High School. She was confirmed on May 20, 1945, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Norfolk.  

Corinne married Edward Horace Swogger of Norfolk, on June 29, 1952, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She attended Norfolk Junior College, Doane College and Wayne State Teacher's College. Corinne taught elementary school for 30 years in the towns of Sutton, Norfolk, Stanton, Madison, Madison County Rural School, and St. Paul's Lutheran School, retiring in 1994. 

Corinne was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and their Ladies Aid for many years also serving various offices in the Ladies Aid.  She passed to eternal peace in heaven on July 20, 2024.

Corinne Swogger is survived by her sons and their spouses, Kent and Karen (Freeman) of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Kurt and Kris (Hirsch) of Winona, Minnesota; and Kraig and Dorie (Johnson) of Overland Park, Kansas; 10 grandchildren and their spouses; and 15 great-grandchildren. 

Corinne was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Ed.  

Corinne requested that memorials be sent to St. Paul's Lutheran Church radio fund.
