A memorial service for Debra J. Moats, age 67, of Norfolk, will be 11:00 a.m. March 29, 2025, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue in Norfolk. Reverend Frank Brink will officiate.
Military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1644, American Legion Post, 16, and Army National Guard Honor Guard.
Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel.
Home for Funerals in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.
Debra died Thursday, March 13, 2025, at her residence.
Debra Jean Moats, daughter of Darwin and Janet (Schattschneider) Beuthin, was born January 14, 1958, in Green Lake, Wisconsin. She attended school in Green Lake, graduating from Green Lake High School in 1976. In June of that year, she joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1982.
On December 16, 1981, she was united in marriage with Douglas S. Moats. They were blessed with four children. They later divorced.
Debra enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and loved collecting gnomes.
She is survived by her children, Benjamin Lee Moats, Michelle Ranee (Billy) Sukup, and Samuel James (Whitney) Moats, all of Norfolk, and Victoria Elizabeth Moats of Omaha; seven grandchildren; and siblings, Mary (Jeff) Moyle and Donald Beuthin of Green Lake, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barb; and brother, Ken.
