Mass of Christian Burial for Donald E. Roeder, age 90, of Dixon, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dixon. Reverend Jerry Connealy will be the celebrant, with burial in the church cemetery.
Military Honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard, Laurel American Legion Post 54, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4502.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Home for Funerals-Randolph, 111 E. Broadway, with 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service.

Donald passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Wayne Countryview Care and Rehabilitation in Wayne, Nebraska.
Donald Edward Roeder was born June 23, 1933, to George and Barbara (Engelhaupt) Roeder on a farm north of Spencer, Nebraska. In his early years, his family moved to Randolph. Don attended St. Francis School, after which he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in September of 1957.
Don went to work for the Miller Honey Company in California after which he leased one of their outlets in Aurora, South Dakota, where he worked with 2000 colonies of honeybees for several years. In 1965, Don purchased the Dave Kuhl Honey Company in Dixon, Nebraska, that he continued with his wife and children until retiring. His legacy, the Roeder Honey Company, is still in operation by his family today.
Don met Geraldine Harmer of Colton, California while working for the Miller Honey Company. They were married on February 15, 1959, in Las Vegas, Nevada. To this union six children were born.
He was exceptionally friendly to everyone and enjoyed visiting with anyone. Don enjoyed camping and fishing with the family and spending the winter months in the southern part of the United States.
Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gerry; children, Colleen Sherman of Laurel, John Roeder of Dixon, Tom Roeder (Shelly Miller) of Lincoln, Paul Roeder (Lucia James) of Dixon, Deb (Bill) Kenny of Papillion, and Patricia (Jeffrey) Kulp of Alva, Florida; five grandchildren, Dustin (Emily) Humphrey and their children Adalynn and Maizie of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, Zach Roeder of Omaha, Nic (Jess) Roeder and their children Max and Nathan of San Augustine, Texas, Emaly (Jake) Cockle and their son Camron of Papillion, and Olivia Kenny of Papillion; brothers, Joe Roeder of Las Vegas, Nevada and Richard (Betty) Roeder of Fremont; sisters, Marilyn Boswell of Michigan City, Indiana and Janet (Steve) Lammers of Crofton; sisters-in-law, Annette Roeder of Arlington Heights, Illinois, Elinor Harmer of Yucaipa, California, and Eva Roeder of St. Louis, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Barbara Roeder; brother, Robert Roeder; son-in-law, Mark Sherman; daughter-in-law, Eva Rivas; and nephew, Todd Roeder.
