Donna B. Eckert

Funeral services for Donna B. Eckert, age 93, of Norfolk, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue in Norfolk. Pastor Cal Kapels will officiate, with burial in Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, Nebraska following the luncheon.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Donna died Friday, March 21, 2025, at Heritage of Bel Air in Norfolk.

Donna B. Eckert, daughter of Grover and Willavee (Saltz) Chatham, was born February 1, 1932, in Madison County, Nebraska. Donna attended school in Meadow Grove. On October 12, 1950, she was united in marriage to Virgil Eckert in Pilger. They were blessed with five children: Deb, Becky, Rob, David, and Teresa.

Donna worked in the food industry throughout her lifetime including Lynn & Al Café, Northeast Community College’s café, and at Mary’s Restaurant. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk.

Donna is survived by her children, Deb Harris of Tilden, Becky (Steve) Mason of Columbus, Rob Eckert of Norfolk, David (Jean) Eckert of Norfolk, and Teresa Eckert of Council Bluffs, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers; four sisters; and a son-in-law, Larry Harris.
