Memorial Mass for Donna M. Finkral, age 80, of Battle Creek, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek. Reverend Patrick McLaughlin will be celebrant, with inurnment in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church, with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service.

Steffen Mortuary in Battle Creek is in charge of arrangements.

She passed Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek.

Donna M. Finkral, daughter of Maynard and Ione (Hoefer) Pelster Dwyer, was born July 28, 1945, in Chadron, Nebraska. She grew up on a ranch in Wheeler County, Nebraska. Donna attended District #3 grade school in Wheeler County, graduated from Assumption Academy High School in Norfolk in 1963, graduated from Norfolk Beauty College in 1964, and graduated from Northeast Community College in 1994.

On August 26, 1963, Donna married Dale Finkral. The couple lived on a farm near Battle Creek for a number of years.

Donna is survived by two sons Shane (Patsy) Finkral of Battle Creek and Troy (Deb) Finkral of Norfolk, daughter Ronda Seyl of Norfolk, grandchildren Anthony (Tara) and their children Brooklyn and August, Rian, Brittney and her daughters Mia and Leilani, Kelby (Melissa) and their son Jack, Abbie (James) and their daughter Serenity, and Jacob (Lexia) and their sons Lincoln and Truett, brother Mark (Julie) Dwyer of Bartlett, two sisters Maureen O’Donnell of Eau Claire, WI and Cammy (Larry) Abbey of Colorado, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Hank and Maynard; and step-parents, Paul and Jackie Dwyer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
