Jeffrey Allan Rub, danced home to Jesus on July 4, 2024, surrounded by family in Monticello, MN. Jeff, son of Duane E. and Marlys (Magstadt) Rub, was born March 24, 1959, in Elgin, North Dakota. He was raised on the family farm south of Bentley, North Dakota. After graduating from New Leipzig High School in 1977 he continued to work as a fourth-generation farmer on his grandparents’ farm for thirteen years. Throughout his life, Jeff loved the outdoors, ranching, and hunting.
On June 7, 1980, Jeff married Jana Osadchy at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Minot, North Dakota. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon to Spearfish Canyon, which became a special place for the family to visit over the years. They were blessed with three children, Trista, Erick and Laurel. Favorite family memories included fishing and swimming the Cannonball River, camping, family bike trips, horseback riding, dancing, and exploring during road trips throughout the Midwest.
In February of 1997, Jeff graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. The following year, the Rub family moved to Norfolk, Nebraska, where Jeff established his chiropractic practice and built a strong faith community, sharing his love of Christ with many others. A familiar face at many of the Norfolk churches, Jeff was a devoted servant, ministering to individuals in prison, organizing men's prayer breakfasts, and participating in multiple bible study groups.
He is survived by his wife, Jana; children, Trista (Chad) Boling, Erick (Taylor) Rub, and Laurel (Adam) Schimelfening; grandchildren, Jude and Cora Boling, Aiden, Eleanor, and Ethan Rub, and Ciaran and Declan Schimelfening; and sisters Gaylene (Perry) Kudrna, Charlotte (Joel) Friedt, and Dayna (Ryan) Bitz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Marlys Rub.
