Duane A. Warneke

Duane A. Warneke, 92, of Tilden, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Duane was born September 14, 1933, in Neligh, Nebraska, a beloved child of Herman and Charlotte (Rudnick) Warneke. He was one of eight children.

On November 15, 1953, Duane was united in marriage to Shirley M. Deckert in Tilden, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children, Michael C. and Susan.

Over the years, he built a career in farming and then as a businessman. Duane was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden.

Outside of work, Duane found joy in golfing, fishing, playing cards, and in community involvement. He cherished time with family and friends and will be remembered for his kindness and humor.

Duane is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Michael (Joyce) Warneke; daughter, Susan (Bruce) Nettleship; grandchildren, Alyssa, Alex, Ryan, and Ashley; three great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ron Warneke and JoAnn Dorrough.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, LaVern Munson and Leona Edwards; and brothers, Arland Warneke, LeRoy Warneke, and Richard Warneke.

A Celebration of Life for “Chub” will be held at a later date for his family.
