Florence D. Kopietz

Funeral services for Florence D. Kopietz, age 100, of Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Reverend Ray Wilke will officiate, with interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue, in Norfolk.

Florence passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at The Meadows in Norfolk.

Florence Delores Kopietz was born June 11, 1924, in Stanton, Nebraska to Frank and Dolly (Doffin) Schlueter. She graduated from Stanton High School and earned a teacher’s certificate from Wayne State College. Florence taught at District 10 school in Stanton County for three years. 

On September 1, 1948, Florence married Engelbert Kopietz at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stanton. The couple farmed near Clarkson until 1953 and then moved to Stanton County until moving to Norfolk in 1976. Florence worked for the Norfolk Regional Center for nine years.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Engelbert (2006).

She is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Patty) Kopietz of Blair and Gary Kopietz of Stanton; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
