Jacob A. Sukup

Funeral services for Jacob A. Sukup, age 22, of Norfolk, will be 10:30 a.m. December 3, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Reverend Christopher Asbury will officiate, with interment in New Lutheran Cemetery in Norfolk. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. December 2, 2024, at Home for Funerals Chapel, 708 Georgia Avenue, in Norfolk.

Jacob passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in Stanton County, Nebraska.

Jacob Arthur Sukup was born January 14, 2002, in Norfolk, Nebraska to Mike and Teresa (Kuehn) Sukup. In 2019, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 198. Jacob graduated from Battle Creek High School in 2020 and earned an associate's degree from Northeast Community College in 2022. He was employed at Milk Specialties in Norfolk.  

Jacob loved the outdoors. He loved grilling, camping, fishing, hiking, rock wall climbing, and ziplining. He especially loved being with his nieces and nephews and family. He was a classic car enthusiast - anything loud and rusty was right up Jacob's alley. He loved wearing his little brother’s expensive clothes while working on old cars. He was one to always be stuck in the creek with his four-wheeler. You would no more than pull him out and he'd be right back stuck.

Jacob was the keeper of the siblings’ family pets that couldn't move with them over the years. He took care of lizards, snakes, rats, dogs, cats, ferrets, and macaws. He was the best zookeeper around. He especially loved picking on his little brother. They were like twins, inseparable. Jacob was always quiet and shy with a little smirk on his face. 

He is survived by parents, Mike Sukup and Teresa Sukup; siblings, Matthew (Amanda) Sukup, Tanya (Ryan) Sharples, Luke Sukup (Ashley Sterns), and Jordan Sukup (Camrynn Marx); grandfather, Richard Kuehn; and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.  

Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Mary Sukup and D. Kay Kuehn.
