James Dill Obituary

James Roy Dill, age 63 of Stanton, NE, died Tuesday October 30, 2018 at his home in Stanton. He was born February 1, 1955 in Wagoner, Oklahoma the son of James Lester and Edna (Hathcoat) Dill. He graduated in 1974 from Weaubleau High School in Weaubleau, Missouri. Soon after graduating from high school, he married Susan Jones in Osceola, MO.
He began his career as an apprentice Boilermaker, joining Union Local #83 Boilermakers based in Kansas City, Missouri where he learned the welding trade.

James worked as a welder in Nebraska and Iowa for several years. In 1978, he married Beverly Frey at her parent's home in Thurston, NE. He worked for Rasmussen Mechanical Services in Council Bluffs, IA. James came to Stanton where he owned and operated Dill's Welding Shop for several years. He worked for Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk in the Maintenance Department. He was currently working in the Maintenance Department at Milk Specialties in Norfolk.

He was a Master Mason and member of Northern Light Lodge #41 A.F. & A.M. in Stanton; and a member of Union Local #83 Boilermakers. Hobbies include: driving his Harley Davidson motorcycle; an avid gun collector; enjoyed fishing and hunting and leatherworking; made his own knives, bows and arrows; spending time with his family; a very talented drummer and played in several bands including: "The Ozark Ridge Runners," "The Smoke Rings" and "Sugarfoot"; also he was a brilliant inventor and loved cooking.

Survivors include his two children James "Jamie" and Kasie Dill of Indianapolis, IN; Stephanie and Christopher Levins of Norfolk, NE; 11 Grandchildren; James' Life Partner for the past 23 years, Patti Weiland of Stanton, NE. Patti's three children: Kevin and Souzi Weiland of Spring, TX; Traci and Luke Matthew of Omaha, NE; Darin Weiland of Denver, CO. His siblings include: Jack and Theresa Dill of Buffalo, MO; Jerry and Julie Dill of Camdenton, MO; Janell "Suzie" and Roger Matthews of Marshfield, MO; Jeff and Michelle Dill of Collins, MO and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceding James in death were his parents.
